What Does it Cost to Get Organized?

Likely, one of the questions you have is, "What do professional organizing services cost?" Because I believe in open, transparent client relationships right from the start, my fee structure is set out below. What you'll get for your investment is commitment, flexibility, and quality work from a trained and experienced organizer.

This page lists some of my common services and fees. If you have different needs, please ask! I'll be happy to provide fee information for your specific situation. All fees are based on an hourly rate of $80/hr.


No Obligation NO COST ASSESSMENT

It's so important that you feel comfortable working with your organizer. An assessment gives you the opportunity to meet me and see if we 'click'. During the assessment, we'll clarify your goals and priorities regarding your organizing project. We'll also determine what we can realistically accomplish within your budget and timeline.

An assessment will usually take 30 - 45 minutes. There is absolutely no obligation, and NO pressure. In fact, I encourage you to interview other organizers and find the right organizer for you. If I feel that I'm not the best fit for your specific project or challenges, I'll tell you, and recommend someone else from the local organizing community that I think is a better fit.


No Cost - No Obligation Assessments are offered in the Greater Edmonton area, including Sherwood Park, St. Albert, and satellite communities, including Leduc, Devon, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Morinville, Fort Saskatchewan, etc. For more distant locations, travel will be charged at $50/hour.


INTRODUCING VIRTUAL ORGANIZING SERVICES

Are virtual organizing sessions for you? There are some advantages to virtual organizing sessions. Some questions to ask yourself:

  • Can I work independently on my organizing project with guidance and support?
  • Is an accountability partner a good choice for me?
  • Am I confortable with the tech required? Currently offering sessions via ZOOM.
  • Would I like to try shorter sessions? (rather than minimum 2 hour on-site sessions)
  • Would more frequent shorter sessions work for me?
  • Is this format to my financial advantage?
One of the great advantages to virtual organizing services is the flexibility! Virtual sessions can be delivered in any combination of in-person visits along with virtual sessions. They can also be delivered in any length of session, customizable to you and your best working conditions. Plus of course, distance is not a factor.
  • No Charge - initial assessment session for NEW clients
  • Virtual organizing sessions are 45 minutes in length and recommended weekly
  • Packages of 4 X 45 minute sessions, paid in advance. No expiration date/time limit
  • $240.00 + $12 (gst) = $252.00

HANDS ON ORGANIZING

If you decide to book organizing services after an Assessment, you can expect your organizer to return on the agreed-on day and proceed with enthusiasm, high energy, and a practical approach.

Since the Assessment will have already established the scope of the project, your billable time will be devoted to actually getting the work done. All organizing services are billed at the rate of $80 per hour.

NEW! TRAUMA-INFORMED INTERVENTIONS FOR HOARDING SITUATIONS

Hoarding is a condition that is highly misunderstood. Many conventional practices for addressing hoarding situations have been shown to have the opposite of the desired effect and can do more harm than good. We would prefer that "clear-out" interventions were never needed, however, we know that sometimes, when a crisis situation exists, there are no other options. There is a kinder, less traumatizing was we can help.

Over the past decade, there has been considerable research and effort directed at changing how communities address hoarding situations. We are introducing a relatively new intervention process that has been shown to have a less detrimental impact on the person is living the hoarding experience. Every situation is different. Every individual has a unique set of circumstances. Every project has to be designed exclusively for that situation.

CONSULTATIONS

Maybe you'd prefer to do the work yourself, but need some advice on:

A consultation may be just what you need. Billed at the regular hourly rate.


SCHEDULING

If possible, it's best to plan for 4 - 6 hour organizing sessions. We want to have enough time to make an impact. On the other hand, this process can be exhausting for clients, even traumatic at times. My experience has shown that there is a dramatic reduction in productivity after 6 hours (max).

Certain circumstances call for very short 2 hour sessions. I make every effort to accommodate clients who have special scheduling needs.

MAINTENANCE

Banish clutter for good! Life happens, and things get behind from time to time. You can make sure that your new, uncluttered lifestyle will last... and last... and last. Based on your needs and budget, we'll customize a maintenance package just for you. Billed at the regular $80/hour rate.

PAYMENT TERMS

Payment may be made by cash or cheque or e-transfer and is due at the end of each organizing session or project. Sorry, no debit or credit card capabilities. Note: listed prices do not include GST. Travel time will be charged at $50/hour outside the following areas: Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Leduc, Devon, Beaumont, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Morinville, and Gibbons. Supplies will be billed at 10% over cost.

CANCELLATION POLICY

I promise to be as flexible as possible with scheduling, but to help me serve all my Clients well, I reserve the right to charge an $80 (one hour) cancellation fee for any appointment cancelled on less than 4 hours' notice.
